Meet Diane Schroeder and BrainWerks Neurofeedback & Counseling Center in Grand Rapids, Michigan!

Diane Schroeder, LPC, is the owner and clinical director of BrainWerks Neurofeedback & Counseling Center. Since opening her practice, she has built a team of licensed clinicians and added multiple neurofeedback systems to meet the growing demand for care. Neurofeedback has been part of her work from day one, and she credits it as the number one reason for her practice’s success.

The Ergomax practice, based in Wolfern, Austria, specializes in occupational therapy for infants, children, and adolescents. The team consists of four occupational therapists and a teacher. In addition to occupational therapy assessments and individual therapy, the practice also offers group therapy focusing on various areas. 

Women experience mental health differently than men. While both can struggle with psychological distress, the reasons behind women’s suffering are often rooted in a mix of biological, social, and systemic factors that require their own conversation. From hormonal shifts and heightened stress to misdiagnosis and chronic emotional strain, women face unique hurdles that deserve focused attention and effective support.
In this article, we take a closer look at five key areas that influence women’s mental health: the higher prevalence of depression and anxiety, hormonal influences such as menopause, the impact of mental load and chronic stress, gender-based disparities in diagnosis, and the potential of Neurofeedback as a supportive therapy.

Menopause is becoming more and more a focus of society.  The application of Neurofeedback, which can help to improve the brain's self-regulatory capacity, seems to be a promising approach.  Several studies have shown that Neurofeedback can help with various of the the menopausal symptoms.
