Neurofeedback bei PTBS Online
Course description

Trauma Informed Neurofeedback
Course description
This training is based on a combination of both clinical practice and a theoretical understanding of the trauma literature to help practitioners work more effectively with people who are undergoing neurofeedback treatment. It will provide important clinical and relational information to consider when working with people who have experienced trauma, including fears which are often not expressed or known by clients but can impact on both the subconscious and conscious interaction with therapist and neurofeedback. Integrated throughout the course will be case examples to explain content and principles, but in addition participants will be encouraged to bring their own case examples to help them understand the course materials and use it in their practice to develop improved treatment outcomes.
Essential teaching content
- Definition of and symptomatology associated with, trauma and dissociation (both overt and covert).
- Exploration of the neuroscience of trauma and how understanding this will help the practice of neurofeedback.
- Definition and understanding of trauma focussed neurofeedback
- How can dissociation be assessed, identified, and interfere with treatment outcomes
- The main fears that can impact on successful treatment, how to identify, address and work with them.
- When and why neurofeedback is not the right place to start, with suggestions of what to do when this happens.
- Some suggestions/recommendations of therapies and strategies that complement trauma focussed neurofeedback.
- Assessment process including relevant measures to include.
- How to identify and actively respond to trauma and dissociative behaviours during neurofeedback sessions.
- How to carry out trauma informed and responsive ILF, alpha theta and synchrony. Including those with complex presentations such as dissociative disorders.
After the course you can
- identify trauma and dissociation (both overt and covert presentations)
- identify the categories of developmental trauma and how they relate to the current behaviour of clients and their histories of trauma/adverse childhood experiences.
- formulate the main goals of neurofeedback intervention from an arousal model perspective
- identify and use the nuances of trauma informed practice to create successful outcomes
- define what trauma informed neurofeedback is and how to engage in it successfully
- understand ways of using ILF, alpha-theta and synchrony together and when to do so effectively in a way that responds specifically to your client’s needs
Course highlights
- Plenty of case examples and clinical material to explain the theories presented.
- Practical techniques that can be used to help engage your clients
- Part of the OMC certification process
- Opportunity to engage in trauma focussed neurofeedback that is a developing concept and practice

Neurofeedback bei ADHS Online
Course description
